Gary Haynes may not be among the top prospects in the 2015 recruiting class, but the three-star recruit and 5-foot-8, 160-pound receiver/cornerback from Marvel High in the Houston, TX suburbs has figured out a way to make a name for himself by posting a video on Vine that shows him hauling in a Hail Mary pass — from himself.

Haynes has reportedly received an offer from the University of Houston and also has interest in Texas Tech, North Texas and Texas A&M, according to 247sports.com. Despite his small frame, the three-star recruit found the end zone 13 times as a junior last year and won wide receiver MVP honors at the recent Rivals Camp Series stop in Houston.
The only question is if Haynes actually threw the same ball that he caught. Though there’s really no way to prove it, it seems entirely possible that someone stood behind the person filming the video and actually threw Haynes the pass he caught.
In either case, it’s an interesting and seemingly effective way to generate national attention.
